Hilary Harlandgraduated from Guy’s Hospital, University of London. She received postgraduate training in oral surgery at Guys and Charing Cross Hospitals. She has also practised dentistry in Jamaica and at Kiel University Clinic in Germany. Over the last twenty years she has very much enjoyed building up Harland and Dear, with the aim of making it a model family dental practice. She finds all aspects of dental care rewarding, with special interests in oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry.
Alexandra Deargraduated from Guy’s Hospital, University of London in 1979 and won the top award for her final LDS examination. On qualification she was awarded a house job at Guy’s Hospital for six months. She began her general practice career in Stoneleigh part time in 1980 whilst also practising in the Community Dental Service treating children at clinics in Cheam and Putney. In 1988 Hilary and Alex acquired the dental practice in partnership together. Alex enjoys all aspects of family dentistry.
Suzy Burgessgraduated from The United Medical and Dental schools (Guy’s and St Thomas’) in 1986. She joined Harland & Dear in 1989 after working in Central London. She has assisted on the oral surgery department at Queen Marys Hospital Roehampton and offers extensive experience within general dentistry. Her special interests are preventive and cosmetic dentistry. She uses holistic dentistry for the anxious patient. Suzy has also studied and obtained the certificate in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital 2010. She has found this very useful in the day to day treatments of her patients.
Marwan Al Obeidi graduated from Guy’s Hospital in 2003. He then gained experience in oral surgery at Queen Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Military Hospital in Haslar. Marwan joined the practice in 2006 and became a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008. He has a special interest in oral surgery.
Nicola Greenwoodgraduated from Bristol University in 2005. She undertook vocational training in Horsham, where she stayed and gained further experience within general practice. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and especially enjoys treating children.
Katie HoldgateKatie qualified from the University of Sheffield with honours. She completed her vocational training in Hertfordshire in a specialist tooth whitening centre. After this year she moved to South West London to work as a dental senior house officer in paedodontics at St Georges Hospital, and Kingston Hospital Oral Surgery Department. This summer she passed the faculty of general dental practitioner’s examinations and is now a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Since leaving hospital she has worked as a general dentist in South West London and joined this practice in September this year where she works part time. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry especially oral surgery and the treatment of children and nervous patients. In her spare time she attends the gym, and enjoys travelling and eating out.
